Voluntary Entry

The Museu Casa de Portinari invites the public to be part of the institution’s history and to contribute to perpetuating the cultural and social actions developed with the Brodowski community and other visitors.

One of the ways to promote its sustainability in an inclusive way was the adoption of a voluntary entry model – known worldwide as PWYW – from the English “pay what you want”, which has been in place since the beginning 2017. Admission to the equipment is still free, but at the end of the visit, the public is invited to revert to the institution the amount they want, if they can.

Fundraising is a way of removing the barrier to entry and inspiring people’s generosity to contribute to cultural initiatives. To make the donation effective, a specific location was created in the Museum that shows the interested party the diversity of social and educational actions carried out by the unit.
